Meet Your Nervous System
Next session 16 Oct: learn more and register here
Many of us live our lives in a state of rush, busy, overwhelm, or even chaos, which can hold us in a near-perpetual state of stress. In this context, our body’s autonomic nervous system works hard to keep us safe by identifying risk and danger, and shifting us into states like fight, flight, or freeze. This is an amazing safety mechanism for us - our body is often doing exactly what we need to stay safe and well.
However, being able to access a sense of safety, connection, curiosity and spaciousness even amidst all the swirl can make a huge difference to how we show up in the world - with others, and in ourselves.
This workshop offers an opportunity to learn more about your nervous system in an experiential, embodied way. You’ll build an understanding of what the nervous system is and how it works. More importantly, you’ll spend time learning to notice your own state and to reflect on what helps you personally regulate yourself back towards a state of calm.
The skills, tools, and ideas you’ll gather in this workshop are useful for all humans - wherever you are, your nervous system is right there with you. Come learn some of the basics and start to build a relationship with your own nervous system.
